Loosely install the 6 supplied screws into the holes. Line the handguard up, and tighten down the screws. I have an x400 waiting to go on the Isler 15" carbon fiber tube at 12'clock once they get the next batch or two ready. Currently have the light/laser mounted on the bottom rail until the carbon fiber tube comes in. Handguard was as heavy as the stock barrel nut, so i removed like 11 ozs from the front of the gun. Stock is very adjustable and feels great against the shoulder. I initially had issues with the stock "shortening" as i shot, but once i torqued the screw down further, that fixed the issue.Install the gas block (and gas tube), then slide the forend over the nut, ensure the two top rails are aligned, then tighten down the six handguard bolts into the barrel nut. Smoke Composites...Cons: Slightly more expensive, it's composite and delamination might be an issue in the future, aluminum barrel nut. My observations so far. Only time will tell with the smoke composites handguard in relation to possible delamination. Based on reviews they can take a beating. Both companies stand behind their products.
