I have checked all fuses, checked all of the connections, replaced the coil, checked the kill switch, replaced the CDI, and replaced the starter (not the problem but needed changed anyhow). A couple months ago it was really cold and went to start atv and the starter stuck (figured it was the solenoid) so I yanked the cable off and hooked it back up. Ever since then I have to cross out the solenoid to start it. It starts perfect when doing so, but nothing when using start switch.Disconnect the output wires of your rectifier (the wires that provide charging and operating voltage to the battery). Then, see if you can start the engine. If you can start the engine, you have a bad rectifier. If you still can't start the engine, reconnect the rectifier, and look elsewhere for the problem.Check the compression --- you will see oil in the valve cover that is normal. If all the animals run in one direction follow them. If you can't soar with the Eagles, then run with the Chickens. If you have the cover off there is a pink wire in a spring style lock you can removed that wire and check the spark again.If thats not it, check the spark plug coil ground. If thats not it, check the control box relay (unplug or replace). If thats not it, check the pick up coil (pulse gen) and the CDI. I hope thats got it. Please correct me if i have missed anything. Starts perfect with kick start. Pull the plug and crank it wtiuh the starter and there is no spark but the moment you let off the button, the spark appears. Short across the starter solenoid and it starts immediately so its not related to the starter.check the fuse holder at the starter solenoid, make sure it is good, power in, and power out, on both sides of the fuse !. Just assuming since my neutral light is on and i have power to my headlight, i have power in/out that fuse, i did check the fuse and it is good.
